FAQ
Vinyl plank flooring questions
How long does vinyl plank installation take?
Many homes are done in 1 to 3 days. It depends on the square footage, how much furniture there is to move and how much prep the subfloor needs. Your written quote includes the timeline for your home.
Is luxury vinyl plank waterproof?
The planks are, which is why LVP works in kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms and handles Jacksonville's humidity better than hardwood or laminate. Still wipe up big spills, since water can get under the floor at the edges.
Why does subfloor prep matter for vinyl plank?
Vinyl plank is thin and follows the floor under it. High spots make the planks rock and the joints pull apart, and low spots leave hollows that flex until the locks break. We prep the subfloor flat to flooring installation standards and the manufacturer's requirements, so your material warranty stays valid.
Do you remove the old floor and move the furniture?
Yes. We take out carpet, tile, laminate or old vinyl and haul it away. We move your furniture, cover and protect it, and put it back exactly where it was.
Can you install vinyl plank on stairs?
Yes. We install vinyl stair treads and risers that match your new floor, so it runs from room to room and up the stairs.
Can I buy my own flooring?
Yes, we install your floor. Or we help you find the best material and design and handle all the logistics.
Do I need to leave the house during the install?
Usually not. We plan it with you after the estimate, and we normally keep one room set up for you while we work.
